Telecommunication: Ex-Mobilink CEO joins GSMA

The GSMA represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide.

Former chief of Mobilink and independent telecom consultant Zouhair Abdul Khaliq has joined the Global System for Mobile (GSM) Association as its Mobile for Development’s Managing Director, a press release said on Friday.


“GSMA Mobile for Development brings together mobile operating members, the wider industry and the development community to drive commercial services for underserved people in the emerging markets,” said Khaliq.  “We identify opportunities and stimulate the development of scalable, life-enhancing mobile services.”

The GSMA represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide. GSMA unites nearly 800 of the world’s mobile operators with 250 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem.
