Seem likes music and fashion industry bigwits have kept their eyes on the ball in the audience stand at the 2014 Fifa World Cup. After singer Rihanna’s tweet about the ‘Colombian cutie’ identified as Naty Betancourt created viral frenzy, cosmetic giant L’Oréal has signed a modelling contract with Belgian football fan Axelle Despiegelaere.

Axelle was photographed while she was rooting for her national team during the Belgium versus Russia Group H match, reported the Daily Mail. Subsequently, her pictures were published in both print and electronic mediums, which helped her in becoming the star of the L’Oréal’s latest social media campaign in Belgium.

According to The Independent, the 17 year old has already shot beauty tutorials for the brand. A video featuring Axelle has been posted on the L’Oréal Professionnel Belgique’s YouTube channel, which has a whopping 437,200 views.

The Belgian Mädchen, who was sporting the ‘Red Devils’ outfit with a horned hat, confirmed that she signed an official contract, expressing her excitement about the venture. She also made her Facebook fan page and wrote as its description: “I am Axelle Despiegelaere. The young Belgian supporter, who suddenly became famous during the World Cup.”

However, her fame may now be short-lived as a photo of her posing with a rifle and dead animal in Africa has surfaced. “Hunting is not a matter of life or death. It’s much more important than that,” she said on her Facebook page. L’Oréal has not responded to these revelations as yet, but is a staunch supporter of animal welfare.

Let’s see if the Belgian beauty turns out to be “worth it” for L’Oréal.
