Boosting : NA body for improving agriculture
Dates approximately having value of Rs22 to 35 billion are wasted due to non-availability of proper management
ISLAMABAD:
National Assembly Standing Committee on National Food Security and Research (NFSR) has urged Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC) to disseminate new innovations at farmers’ doorsteps to promote agriculture in the country. Chairing the 10th meeting of NA standing committee, chairman Malik Shakir Bashir Awan said that by giving importance to the agriculture sector the country’s economy can be improved significantly. He said that the promotion of olive cultivation in the country can save foreign exchange of billions of rupees. Awan added that in the country, dates approximately having value of Rs22 to 35 billion are wasted due to non-availability of proper management. He urged to arrange training of small farmers as Farm Manager (master trainer) to further impart training to local communities.
