Burglary: Trader’s house robbed

They looted Rs150,000 cash, gold ornaments worth Rs 1million.

Armed robbers have burgled the house of a local trader in Gujar Khan, police said.


The house of a local trader, who was identified as Aurangzeb, was robbed of cash and valuables in broad day light, according to a police report on Wednesday.


A gang of armed robbers broke into the house of Aurangzeb, owner of ‘London Sweet House’, through the roof and held the inmates hostage at gunpoint before going on the looting-spree.


They looted Rs150,000 cash, gold ornaments worth Rs 1million, a laptop and other valuables and fled after locking the family members in a room. Meanwhile, the same police arrested three persons and seized liquor and a weapon from their possession. During a patrol, a police party seized 60 bottles of liquor from Kamran Shahzad, 50 bottles from Sajid Mehmood and a 30-bore pistol with four bullets from Jahangir Akhtar.


The police registered separate cases and investigations are under way.
