Lahore court sends Gullu Butt on 6-day physical remand

Butt will be kept in police custody at Faisal Town police station.

LAHORE:
A Lahore court sent Gullu Butt - who gained notoriety by smashing cars during the June 17 clashes between Tahirul Qadri’s supporters and the police - on a six-day physical remand on Tuesday, Express News reported.

Butt, an active member of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), will be kept in police custody at Faisal Town police station.

He was earlier sent on a 14-day judicial remand on the orders of the magistrate two days after the violent clashes at Minhajul Quran Secretariat in Model Town.

Butt was caught smashing cars during the clash between PAT workers and the police outside the Minhajul Quran International Secretariat.

He smashed windscreens and windows of private vehicles with his club, while police officials looked on and the vandalism continued unabated.
