Official announcement: PIA MD goes on leave
For the first time that PIA has officially communicated information related to its top official going on a leave.
KARACHI:
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has said that its Managing Director Junaid Yunus has proceeded on an annual leave until August 7, 2014, and Director Corporate Planning Shahnawaz Rehman has taken over as Acting Managing Director.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has said that its Managing Director Junaid Yunus has proceeded on an annual leave until August 7, 2014, and Director Corporate Planning Shahnawaz Rehman has taken over as Acting Managing Director.
“In another development, Rashid Aziz has been made Acting Director Marketing. He is the senior most General Manager in Marketing. Both the senior officials took charge of their new assignments,” a PIA handout said.
This is probably for the first time that PIA has officially communicated information related to its top official going on a leave. But an airline spokesman said that too much must not be read between the lines. “We had to issue a press note on the subject because certain news channels project Junaid Yunus’s leave as something else. He needed to take time off and he is much in contact with everyone in the senior management,” the spokesman said.
