Road crash: Six die as bus topples over near Naushki
Police confirm that the driver was speeding.
QUETTA:
Six people were killed and 36 others injured on Sunday when a speeding bus overturned near Naushki. The bus was heading to Kharan from the provincial capital.
According to reports, the driver lost control of the bus near Naushki at an area called Sultan Charhai. Police sources confirmed that the bus driver was over-speeding.
The local administration and the rescue teams rushed to the site shortly after the incident and shifted the injured and the deceased to a nearby hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Muhammad Ibrahim, Abdul Khaliq, Muhammad Ismail, Haji Lal Jan and Muhammad Siddiq. The identity of one of the deceased could not be determined.
The bodies were handed over the heirs after legal formalities were completed.
The injured were identified as Ghulam Mustafa, Abdul Razaq, Habibullah, Rehmatullah, Akramullah, Abdullah, Attaullah, Haji Waris, Muhammad Hayat, Muhammad Afzal, Muhammad Arif, Khalil Ahmad, Habibullah, Nisar Ahmad, Muhammd Qasim, Miran Shah, Abdul Jabbar. Four women – Bibi Rabia, Bibi Rukhsana, Bibi Nazia, and Bibi Fatima – were also injured in the accident.
Some of the injured have been referred to a Quetta-based hospital in view of their critical condition. A case has been registered with the police.
