Pleading Innocence: Police record on Gullu’s plea sought
The lawyer said no club or a gun had been recovered from his client.
LAHORE:
A judicial magistrate summoned the police record on a post- arrest bail application by Gullu Butt on Saturday. Butt is accused of smashing window and windscreens of several vehicles during the police operation in Model Town on June 17. The hearing was adjourned till July 10. Counsel for Butt said that he was innocent and had been implicated in a fake case. He said activists of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek had first pelted him [Butt] with stones “as a result of which he became enraged and smashed the windscreens of vehicles”. The lawyer said no club or a gun had been recovered from his client.
