Religious insight: People asked to respect fellow citizens
Famous religious scholar says man is blessed with power of speech so that he can disseminate knowledge.
KARACHI:
Famous religious scholar Moulana Koukab Noorani Okarvi said that man is blessed with the power of speech so that he can disseminate knowledge, but he is misusing this blessing and is causing harm to the mankind. Talking about the harms caused to humanity by man’s power of speech, Noorani was of the view that a person’s life is made up of love and affection and hence it is necessary to earn halal livelihood and tread the path of truth and sincerity. Instead of berating others, one should focus on reforming one’s life. Narrating the attributes of a good Muslim, Noorani said that a good Muslim is the one who cares for others and tries not to cause harm to anyone, intentionally or unintentionally. He said that Islam teaches us to formulate a blessed society according to the principles laid down in the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), a society where everyone respects others and protects the rights of fellow citizens.
