Inflation: Index increases 0.67% during week
SPI for the week ended July 3, 2014 registers increase of 0.67% over previous week for lowest income group.
ISLAMABAD:
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended July 3, 2014 has registered an increase of 0.67% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the week under review for the above mentioned group was recorded at 205.48 points against 204.12 registered in the previous week, according to provisional figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined groups also increased by 0.59% from 213.47 points points in the previous week to 214.74 this week. Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for combined groups inflated 7.09%. During the week under review, average prices of indexed items changed as follows —5 items registered a decrease, 21 items increased and the remaining 27 items remained unchanged.
