Alarming: Two bodies found in gunny bags

Bodies were found by nomads scavenging for recyclable paper near sewerage drain.

LAHORE:

The mutilated bodies of two men were found stuffed in sacks near Dhalla Stop, Liaquatabad, on Thursday.

Police said they were informed about the bodies by some nomads scavenging for recyclable paper near RS Pulli near a sewerage drain.

The bodies were taken to Jinnah Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police said the men appeared to be in their mid-30. They said the bodies carried visible signs of torture. Their hands and feet were tied and their faces were covered with plastic bags. Police said the bodies could not be identified as the faces also carried deep gashes made by sharp weapons. Police said an initial probe revealed that the victims had been kidnapped, tortured and then killed a few days ago. Police have registered a case against unidentified men. Police said the incident was the first of its kind in Lahore. More than 273 similar cases had been reported in Karachi in 2013 alone, they said.
