Regional police officer says police should desist from abusing power.
BAHAWALPUR:
Rahim Yar Khan Regional Police Officer Rai Muhammad Tahir on Thursday said the police should discharge duties on the basis of merit. He was addressing police officers at a meeting. District Police Officer Sohail Zafar Chatta also attended the meeting. Tahir said the police should employ all resources at their disposal to protect the public. He directed station house officers to personally conduct proceedings after receiving pivotal information. Tahir ordered the SHOs to review blasphemy cases before registering a first information report against the accused. He said the police should desist from abusing power.
