I pray for Pakistan to be free of terrorists soon: Altaf

MQM invites Musharraf June 6 rally.

KARACHI:
In a show of his support for the Pakistan Army, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain said he hopes the army is successful in eliminating terrorists in the country.

"I pray for Pakistan to be free of terrorists soon," he said, while addressing the media and party members via telephone at the Karachi Press Club.

"I was the first person to speak out against talibanisation," Altaf said.

He went on to added that "the public has sacrificed their lives in this war against terrorists, thousands of people have lost their lives."

He spoke out against Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah for denying talibanisation in Karachi. He said that people of all ethnicities had lost their lives following the "grip of the Taliban" in the city.


In regard to media criticism, the MQM leader said people should be more "tolerant".

MQM invites Musharraf June 6 rally

Three member MQM delegation met the former President General (rtd) Pervez Musharraf and invited him to the MQM’s Sunday rally to express solidarity with armed forces, Express News reported.

MQM delegation led by the Senator Babar Khan Ghauri invited the former president to MQM’s rally to be held on July 6, 2014.

We are inviting all the political parties to join hands and with us in showing solidarity with armed forces, said Ghauri.
