The book is a compilation of inspiring quotes and maxims of Mohammad Ali Jinnah

A book titled Quotes from the Quaid, compiled and edited by Sharifal Mujahid and Liaquat Merchant and published by Oxford University Press (OUP), has been prescribed as required reading in the MA and MPhil courses at the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) for the next five years.

According to a press release, around 300 students enrol each year into the MA and MPhil programmes at the university and each student is provided a study package with prescribed reading materials inside it. OUP is making special arrangements to develop the book for the varsity’s students.

The book is a compilation of inspiring quotes and maxims of Mohammad Ali Jinnah and has been collected from various sources. The thought-provoking words spell out Jinnah’s vision of Pakistan and the booklet includes words and thoughts on areas relevant to contemporary issues and aims to provide guidance to students.

Mujahid is a distinguished educator while Merchant is the president of the Jinnah Society and executive trustee of the Quaid-e-Azam Aligarh Education Trust.

Around 95,000 copies of the Urdu translation of the book have been distributed free of cost by OUP in schools across the country while over a 1,000 copies of the book were also provided to President Mamnoon Hussain for distribution among parliamentarians and civil servants.
