Counteraction: Attack on police station thwarted

Two armed militants attacked the Ghoriwala police station in Bannu on Tuesday.

BANNU: Two armed militants attacked the Ghoriwala police station in Bannu on Tuesday morning. Fortunately, no loss of life was reported in the incident. Ghoriwala police official Asmatullah Khan said two gunmen on a motorbike stopped in front of the police station and opened fire at police personnel. However, the policemen remained unscathed and fired back in retaliation, forcing the militants to flee. Khan added that they launched a search operation in the surrounding areas after the attack, but no one was arrested.
