RAWALPINDI:

Rawalpindi Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Shoaib Khurrum Janbaz has appealed to motorists to display patience, follow the rules  and avoid rash driving during Ramzan, particularly at Iftar time.

“As the time for Iftar nears, everyone on the road wants to reach home in time and in the process, they  may opt for rash driving which often causes fatal accidents,” he said while talking to APP here on Monday.

The CTO said that all traffic police wardens have been directed not to leave their points of duty at Iftar time, irrespective of the traffic load.

He said a total of 1,150 wardens will be deployed to maintain smooth flow of traffic on city roads during Ramzan.

To manage the work a control room has been set up at the Race Course Traffic Headquarter.

The CTO said the people can lodge their complaints and also seek updates on traffic in the city by calling the phone number 051-927-2616.
