Tenure of K-P tribunals extended for another 3 months, remaining ones assigned to complete their work in next 6 months
ISLAMABAD:
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has extended the tenure of the tribunals tasked with deciding post-election petitions.
The tenure of K-P tribunals has been extended for another three months, while the remaining ones have been assigned to complete their work in the next six months.
An official of the ECP told The Express Tribune that the number of post-polls tribunals have been reduced from 14 to 11.
ECP official said the number of tribunals in Balochistan has been decreased from three to two and in Sindh from three to two. These tribunals, along with five working in Punjab, have been asked to complete their work within the next six months.
The three tribunals for K-P have been asked to complete their work in the next three months.
