Heinous crime: Girl sexually assaulted, strangled

A minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and then strangled to death in a village close to Abbottabad city, police said on Friday. Cantonment police quoted Abid Khan, a resident of Lower Salhad, saying his daughter Fateha Bibi, 9, went to buy groceries from the village shop but did not return even after an hour. Police later recovered the body from a neighbouring house and shifted it to District Headquarters Hospital where doctors confirmed the victim was sexually assaulted before being strangled.
