IDP Aid: SZABMU sending two mobile hospitals to Bannu

SZABMU will dispatch two mobile hospitals for IDPs camp in Bannu along with a medical team for six months.

Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) will dispatch two mobile hospitals for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Bannu along with a medical team for six months.


Mobile hospitals will be dispatched on Friday (today) from the presidency with an aim to provide quality healthcare services to the IDPs, said SZABMU Vice-Chancellor Professor Javed Akram.

Talking to The Express Tribune, he said these mobile hospitals will provide all medical facilities from x-ray to field operation theatres along with a dedicated labour room for expecting mothers.

He said that the medical team will consist of 16 staff members including gynecologists, pediatricians and physicians.

Meanwhile, the Women Chamber of Commerce has donated essential medicines for the mobile hospitals, he said.

Prof Akram further said that the SZABMU-Pims employees have also donated one-day’s salaries to the IDPs.
