ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has nominated Ishaq Dar and Sardar Mehtab Abbasi to the parliamentary commission for the appointment of judges.

A meeting of the PML-N parliamentary party was held under the chairmanship of Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday to make a final decision in this regard, sources said.

Nominating Ishaq Dar and Sardar Mehtab to the commission, the party decided to relinquish the role of what its detractors dubbed ‘friendly opposition’ and give a tough time to the government. A resolution was also passed against rising inflation and fuel price hike.

Speaking at the meeting, Chaudhry Nisar said the government has failed to provide any relief to the masses, adding that the government should reconsider its policies. He made it clear that the PML-N would not remain silent over the prevailing situation.

He clarified that the PML-N did not want the imposition of martial law. Rather, it would give a tough time to the government in both houses of parliament. He said that the PML-N stance is very clear about increasing corruption and urged the government to review its policies.

The PML-N members expressed concern over rapid increase in prices of various commodities. They said the people’s problems were not being addressed and suggested that the party craft a strategy to highlight this issue.
