Armed bandits robbed a branch of Meezan Bank located in North Nazimabad

Armed bandits robbed a branch of Meezan Bank located in North Nazimabad, within the limits of Taimuria police station, on Thursday. Police officials said that at least six dacoits entered the Meezan Bank branch located in North Nazimabad’s Block M at around 1pm. According to the bank staff, two bandits initially entered the bank in the guise of customers and were later joined by four of their accomplices. They held the employees and customers hostage at gunpoint. The robbers then looted the cash from the cash counter and escaped, having completed their operation within five minutes. In their haste to escape, the robbers did not take the CCTV footage recorded by the DVR system installed at the bank. SHO Qalandar Buksh said that the police have obtained the footages. The officer added that the exact amount of looted money has yet to be ascertained. Bank officials had initially quoted the looted amount as Rs400,000 but had later claimed that the amount was Rs3.3 million. A case will be registered after the amount is confirmed.
