Intra-party polls; JUI-F elects provincial amir
Another party leader from Mardan and former MNA, Maulana Shujaul Mulk, was elected as the party’s general secretary.

Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan was elected as the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) provincial amir in the party’s provincial chapter elections on Thursday. Another party leader from Mardan and former MNA, Maulana Shujaul Mulk, was elected as the party’s general secretary. The polls took place at the party’s provincial headquarters. Party sources told The Express Tribune that Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan was elected the party’s provincial amir with a heavy majority, securing 706 votes. His opponent, Pir Alamzeb Shah, managed to secure only 121 votes. Party’s current naib provincial amir and candidate for general secretary, Maulana Attaur Rehman, had to face defeat at the hands of Shujaul Mulk. Mulk secured 413 votes, while Attaur Rehman managed to bag 401 votes. Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan and Maulana Attaur Rehman belong to the same panel, while Pir Alamzeb Shah was contesting for provincial amir and Shujaul Mulk was his general secretary.
