Transparency report: Tangible decline in corruption, says NAB chief

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry referring to the Transparency International’s latest report said that tangible decline has been witnessed in the cases of corruption in the country over the last couple of months. As many as 705 references were filed enabling recovery of Rs260 billion of looted money since 1999. He was addressing a press conference at a local hotel on Wednesday. Director General NAB Balochistan Region Syed Khalid Iqbal accompanied the chairman. “In line with the policy of NAB, efforts were afoot to strengthen the awareness and prevention side involving the civil society and media outlets against the curse of corruption,” he said.
