Holding a grudge: Woman raped by brother-in-law and accomplice
The men raped and fled after threatening with dire consequences.
FAISALABAD:
A woman was raped by her brother-in-law and his accomplice in village 243-RB, Roshanwala, on Wednesday.
Dijkot police said Muhammad Aslam, accompanied by an unidentified accomplice, broke into the house of his brother, Muhammad Ashraf, when he was not home and raped his wife.
Muhammad Hafeez, a relative of the woman, told journalists that Aslam had wanted to marry the woman but she had married Ashraf instead.
He said that Ashraf was a truck driver and was away for work when the crime occurred. He said Aslam knew that Ashraf’s wife would be home alone. The men raped her and fled after threatening her with dire consequences if she told anyone, he said.
Hafeez said the girl went to her parents’ house and told them about the incident. He said she was so distraught that she had tried to set herself on fire but her family stopped her in time.
The Dijkot police station house officer said they had registered a case on a complaint by the victim’s brother and started investigation. He said they had constituted a police team to locate Aslam and his accomplice.
