Snooker: Asif, Sajjad qualify for knockouts

Pakistani cueist Mohammad Asif confirmed his spot in the knockout stage of the IBSF 6-Red World Championship after beating Egypt’s Alaa Elsaed 4-1 in his last Group U match in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
The former IBSF world champion won the first two frames 46-20 and 54-08, but Elsaed won the third game10-41 to cut down the deficit. However, Asif struck back and won the following two frames 58-08 and 64-0.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Sajjad came out unblemished from Group M, winning all four matches after thumping Egypt’s Mohamed Khairy 4-0 with scores of 52-0, 44-10, 45-0 and 32-25.
Pakistan also dominated the IBSF World Team Championship in Group J as they won all three matches and will now take on Libya in their last group match.
