War against terror: Nation fully supports the army says Zahid Hamid

Federal Science and Technology Minister Zahid Hamid said on Sunday that the nation stood united with the armed forces against terrorism.
He was addressing a press conference in Pasrur on Sunday. The minister said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government was aware of the existing internal and external threats facing the country and was making all out efforts to deal with them.
“The government is committed to rooting out terrorism with the support of the people of Pakistan,” he said. “The country’s armed forces had the capability to eliminate terrorism.”
He said the government was strengthening national institutions by promoting democracy. The PML-N had successfully put the country back on the road of progress.
“The government is also taking practical steps to pull the country out of the energy crisis,” he said.
Discussing development projects in Pasrur, the minister said Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had released a grant of Rs50 million for various uplift schemes for the area.
He said funds would be spent on building a five-kilometre long dyke on both sides of the Naullah Dek from village Chahoor to Jastiwala.
“The chief minister has also approved Rescue-1122 service for Pasrur and the up-gradation of Sialkot-Pasrur Road, Kingra-Sialkot Road and the Sialkot-Bhaagowal Road,” he said. Rs60 million would be spent on establishing a new medical block at the Pasrur tehsil headquarters hospital, Rs25 million on improving the sewage system and Rs90 million would be spent on building a new vegetable market outside the city, he said. The minister said that the federal government had also allocated special funds for establishing new hostels at the cadet college near Pasrur.
