Police registered a case against the suspect and further investigation is under way.
ISLAMABAD:
The Airport Security Force has arrested a man attempting to smuggle heroin in his stomach to Dubai via a private airline. On a tip-off, the ASF team intercepted Ghafar Khan, a resident of Dir, for allegedly carrying heroin-filled capsules in his stomach.
The suspected confessed to have swallowed 70 heroin-filled capsules. A case has been registered against him and further investigation is under way. Meanwhile, a pedestrian died in a hit-and-run in the Airport area. Afzal Saeed, a resident of Gulistan Colony, told the police that his brother Ayaz Butt was standing on a roadside, when a Toyota Corolla (RF-924) driven by Muhammad Abdullah, hit him, causing critical injuries, and drove off.
Saeed said that his brother died while being rushed to the hospital. “The car driver fled the scene,” he told the police. The police registered a case against the suspect and further investigation is under way.
