ISLAMABAD:
The LPG distributors’ association has called upon authorities to ease the policy for opening auto gas stations that will provide cheaper and environment-friendly fuel to consumers.
The association chairman Irfan Khokhar, while speaking to media, said the government could not afford to provide gas to the CNG sector for too long.
Hence, he added, the government could promote LPG as an alternate source and take effective steps for the encouragement of opening such auto gas stations across the country.
He said hundreds of applications had been pending with hefty security and inspection amounts with the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) but the authority was dragging its feet to grant licences on the pretext for opening LPG refilling stations, he added.
