QUETTA:

PML-N leader and provincial minister for irrigation Nawabzada Jangaiz Marri was designated the new head of the Marri tribe on Thursday.

Tribal elders tied the turban around his head, a weight his father Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri had carried for the past 64 years. The new chief sounded all inclusive when talking to the media after his Dastarbandi.

Jangaiz Marri said the notables of the tribe would decide the priorities of the tribe.

And they say that the government in Islamabad is against the sardari system. They all use the sardars for their advantage, one more sardar in the pocket of government but I am sure they know it better by now that Sardari system is declining gradually in Balochistan. After Late Nawab Marri, Changaiz wouldn't be able to fill his shoes and have the same status. Makuran region is already out of sardars which is by far the greatest achievement of middle class. Similarly the system in Jahlawan area is weakening as students are being educated. Wish so called Pakistani patriots raised their voices against sardar now. Changaiz is the second sardar that establishment has brought forward after Mir Aali Bugti
