PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Higher Education department has put an end to the age ceiling for women seeking admission at public sector universities. A notification to this effect was issued on Thursday. It stated the notification will be circulated at all colleges for compliance. The lifting of the age-limit will be in effect from the new academic session. The notification added an awareness campaign might be launched to encourage women to seek admission. Most colleges and universities in the province tend to refuse admission to women over the age of 25 years. On May 22, Minister for Higher Education Mushtaq Ghani said the government had planned to lift the upper age for limit female students.
