The Balochistan Assembly on Wednesday passed a unanimous resolution condemning the killing of the minority MPA, Handrey Masieh, who was shot dead by his own guard last week.

Offering condolences to the family the provincial assembly observed two minutes of silence to mourn the deceased.  The assembly’s session, chaired by the assembly’s speaker Jan Muhammad Jamali, was requisitioned to pay tribute to Masieh.

Nasarullah Zehry of the Pakhtunkhuwa Milli Awami Party tabled the resolution on behalf of both the government and the opposition. The resolution condemned the assassination and paid glowing tribute to the late MPA for his services.

Later, Speaker Jan Muhammad Jamali said that as a custom the house is adjourned when a member passes away. He then adjourned the house for an indefinite period.

Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, Provincial leader of PML-N and Senior Minister Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, Minister for Excise and Taxation Jafar Khan Mandokhel, Information Minister Abdul Rahim Zairatwal and members of the opposition were present during the session.
