LAHORE:
A lawyer on Wednesday moved a petition seeking the registration of cases against the government and police officials for allegedly ordering coercive action against Pakistan Awami Tehreek activists. Advocate Nauman Attique requested action against the chief minister, law minister, the capital city police officer, operations deputy inspector general and 600 other unidentified policemen. He said the police had “attacked PAT workers on orders of the chief minister and law minister. Capital City Police Officer Shafique Ahmed Gujjar, Operations DIG Rana Abdul Jabbar, Cantonment SP Malik Awais, Model Town SP Tariq Aziz are also involved in this incident.” The judge sought comments from the Faisal Town SHO by June 20.
