Monsoon season: All dikes to be monitored

As a safety precaution for monsoon, assistant commissioners have been asked to personally monitor all protective dikes in their areas, said Ghotki deputy commissioner Ahmed Ali Qureshi at a meeting on Tuesday.
The assistant commissioners were also asked to jointly visit the vulnerable areas of the dikes. He asked XEN irrigation to point out the sensitive spots and ensure availability of material for desilting. He directed the irrigation department to complete the ongoing development schemes, including work on strengthening dykes and rehabilitation of embankments in the stipulated time.
