Not Impressed: ‘Musharraf must stay on ECL’

The bar leaders also condemned the police action against Pakistan Awami Tehreek.

LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court Bar Association on Tuesday passed a unanimous resolution condemning the likely removal of former president Pervez Musharraf’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL). Advocate Raja Zulqarnain moved the resolution stating that Musharraf had “abrogated the constitution twice and imposed emergency in the country”. “He committed grave constitutional crimes and removing his name from the ECL would amount to deceiving the whole nation,” the resolution said. The bar leaders also condemned the police action against Pakistan Awami Tehreek secretariat in Model Town and called it “terrorism”.
