LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge sought comments from the Ichhra station house officer on a petition seeking the registration of a case against a man accused of stealing money from the petitioner on the pretext of selling him two puppies.

Petitioner Hamza Shehzad submitted that accused Shakeel wanted to sell two puppies to him and a few days ago he brought them to his residence. He said Shakeel demanded Rs100,000 for the puppies. The petitioner said a few days later he went to Shakeel’s house and paid Rs85,000 to the accused who promised to hand him the puppies the next day.

However, he said, when he contacted Shakeel the next day, his cell phone was switched off. He said he waited for a few days but Shakeel never got back to him. After a few days he found out that Shakeel had vacated the rented house and taken the puppies with him.  Shehzad said Shakeel had minted money on the pretext of selling puppies to him.  He said that he approached the police but the SHO did not register a case against Shakeel.
