Old enmity: Man killed, another injured in rivals’ firing
Muhammad Qasim, who was driving the car, was seriously injured and died in the car.
FAISALABAD:
A man was killed and another critically injured by their rivals on Tuesday. Sargodha Road police said security guards posted in front of Parvaiz Numberdar’s dera in Chak 7-JB, Sargodha Road, saw a car driven by some of his rivals approaching the dera. They shot at the car a few yards from the dera.
Muhammad Qasim, who was driving the car, was seriously injured and died in the car. Atif Abbas, who was also in the car, was rushed to Allied Hospital where doctors treating him said his condition was critical. Noorul Amin, a relative of Atif Abbas, said Abbas had an old enmity with Numberdar but he and his driver were on their way to a court and were not headed for the dera.
He said Numberdar’s gunmen chased the car and killed them to ensure that would not appear in court. The Sargodha Road station house officer said the body had been sent to a mortuary for post-mortem examination. “We have also registered a case against six people and are looking for them. They will hopefully be arrested within 24 hours,” he said.
