Higher education: Bahawalpur to have six new colleges

The education minister said that record funds had been allocated in this year’s budget.

BAHAWALPUR: Federal Education Minister Baligur Rehman said on Tuesday that Rs143 million rupees had been allocated for the construction of six colleges in Bahawalpur.

Speaking to the workers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) at his residence, the minister said that Rs19 million had been reserved for the construction of Samma Satta Boys Degree College, Rs31 million rupees for Degree College for Women in Hathaiji, Rs28 million for Government Degree College for Women in Bangla Tailwala, Rs26 million for Government Degree College Chunawala, Hasilpur and Rs6.2 million for Government Degree College for Women in Khan Bela.

The education minister said that record funds had been allocated in this year’s budget for the development of southern Punjab, which was government’s priority.
