KARACHI:

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has demanded the Sindh government withdraw all new taxes imposed in the 2014-2015 provincial budget.

Addressing a press conference along with other party lawmakers at the assembly chamber on Monday, MQM parliamentary leader Syed Sardar Ahmed said, “Common citizens cannot bear the burden of stamp duty and other taxes. This will scale up the inflation and create resentment among the poor, therefore the government should remove the provisions from the budget.” They also asked the government to impose an agriculture tax without any delays to generate more revenue.
