LAHORE: A police constable shot his estranged wife and mother-in-law dead after his wife refused to reconcile with him on Sunday. Constable Muhammad Altaf had married Faiza Bibi two months ago. They had a quarrel after which Faiza Bibi went to live at her mother’s house in Garhi Shahu. On Sunday, Constable Altaf went to reconcile with her. He got into a squabble with his mother-in-law Sobia Bibi and his wife and shot them both several times and fled. The bodies were taken to a mortuary and later handed over to the family for burial. Civil Lines SP Umar Riaz said Altaf had been posted at Qila Gujjar Singh Police Lines and was a resident of Okara. He said a police team had been constituted to arrest him.
