MANSEHRA:
Two blasts in Mansehra, near a security forces' vehicle, left one person dead and seven injured including three military personnel on Karakoram Highway near Khanpur village on Saturday.

The police identified the injured military personnel as Lance Naik Feroz Khan, Sepoy Tahir Khan and Sepoy Safdar.

The two explosions took place in the Shinkiari area of the city.

The military convoy was the prime target. However, the vehicles carrying military personnel escaped undamaged, according to a police officer and eyewitness.

In the first blast, three people were injured and were taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.

The bomb was planted on the roadside and detonated via a remote control device, according to sources.

Sources said that the second blast took place at the same place, while the rescue operation was going on. The blast left one person dead, while four others, including two media persons, were injured.

The police have reportedly arrested a suspect who was injured and have shifted him to an unknown location for interrogation, police sources said.
