EPI: ‘Month-long drive in full swing’
The EDO said that 1,408 lady health workers, 95 health centres and tehsil headquarter hospitals participating

The month-long national expanded programme for immunization (EPI) in all tehsils and towns of the Rawalpindi district was in full swing. Executive District Officer (EDO-health) Dr Zafar Iqbal Gondal said on Wednesday that the Punjab government was actively pursuing the EPI campaign to achieve 100 per cent results set under the millennium development goals. The EDO said that 1,408 lady health workers, 95 health centres, allied hospitals and tehsil headquarter hospitals were fully participating in the drive to fight chronic diseases such as polio, measles, pertussis, diphtheria, tetanus, hepatitis-B and tuberculosis. During the campaign, he said, different vaccines were also being given to the children who had missed doses in the last two to three years.
