A district and sessions court dismissed the bail application of a suspect allegedly involved in the looting of 60 lockers of a Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB) branch.
The lockers had been looted of cash, jewellery and other valuables worth around Rs70 million on April 5. Mohammad Suleman Buriro, a judicial magistrate in district East, dismissed the bail application of the suspect, Muhammad Ali, after hearing arguments from both sides.
Ali, Shakeel Ahmed and Kashif Mehmood, along with their absconding accomplices, have been booked for their alleged involvement in the MCB lockers' robbery case. The police have shown the alleged mastermind, Malik Zauq, his sister Tahira, Shah Wali and Mehmood Shah as absconders in the case. A case was registered under Sections 395 (dacoity) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code at the Soldier Bazaar police station. Earlier, a prosecution witness had identified the looted articles before a judicial magistrate.
