Ending water-borne diseases: Azat, USAID to address water issues

QUETTA:
In order to address the drinking water issue in the far-flung areas of district Nushki, in Balochistan, Azat Foundation (AF) in collaboration with USAID’s Small Grants and Ambassador’s Fund Program (SGAFP), has launched a project to install pumps operative through solar energy. It is pertinent to mention that due to the unavailability of potable water locals are forced to consume contaminated water from ponds and pools. The project is likely to directly overcome the problem of around 400 homes and would indirectly benefit 350 households. The prime objective of this project is to cutback water borne diseases through provision of innovative and sustainable infrastructure and rising on good practices for safe drinking water and hygiene in the two UCs of Daak and Anambostan of tehsil and district Nushki Balochistan.
