Power solutions: Rs3.3bn allocated for new FESCO projects, says CEO

Faisalabad Electric Supply Company Chief Executive Officer Khurshid Alam on Tuesday said the FESCO has finalised plans to upgrade transmission lines and grid stations and has allocated Rs3.3 billion for this purpose. The projects include the construction of seven 132KV grid stations, the upgrade of six 66KV grid stations and construction of 40 transmission lines.



The CEO was addressing FESCO officials during a visit to the 220KV Nishatabad grid station and the grid system operation directorate. He said once the projects were complete, the FESCO would be able to distribute its load quota according to international standards. He said the FESCO board of directors had approved the projects and a proposal had been sent to the National Economic Council for approval. He said the plan for four new 132KV grid stations had been made considering Faisalabad’s importance as the industrial hub of the Punjab.
