Vc’s abduction: Committee ordered to submit report
Committee was ordered by the court to provide a report on the release of abducted Islamia College University.
PESHAWAR:
A committee comprising Waziristan parliamentarians, political agents and the FATA additional chief secretary was ordered by the court to provide a report on the release of abducted Islamia College University Vice Chancellor (VC) Ajmal Khan. The order was issued by a division bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel and Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth while hearing a petition filed by Advocate Muhammad Iqbal Mohmand seeking the release of Khan. Mohmand told the court the same committee secured the release of eight kidnapped Gomal Zam Dam workers in 2013 after hectic efforts. The court then ordered the services of the committee be used to facilitate the release of VC Khan and a progress report be submitted within a month. Ajmal Khan was kidnapped from Professor Colony on September 8, 2012.
