KARACHI:
The Lahore High Court on Monday dismissed a writ petition challenging the extension of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee’s (MC) tenure by the Inter-Provincial Coordination ministry for 120 days, with effect from June 9.
The board’s patron, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, had ordered the extension of the MC for another four months.
According to a media release, the PCB’s legal counsel, Taffazul Haider Rizvi, raised a preliminary objection to the maintainability of the writ petition, taking the plea that the matter was sub judice before the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
