ISLAMABAD: A trial court on Monday sent the alleged killer of a 10-year-old boy on three-day physical remand. Haris*, a seminary student and a resident of Koral, was allegedly sexually assaulted before being killed in an under-construction building in the Koral area, said investigation officer Muzaffar Shah, adding that the child’s body was recovered from the same location. The police registered a case against Usman Amjad and constituted teams to apprehend him after he was accused by the victim’s family. Amjad was arrested from a suburb of the capital on Sunday and confessed to strangling Haris after molesting him, the police office said. On Monday, the accused was produced before a local court, where the police obtained three-day physical remand. The police will submit a charge-sheet against Amjad to the court after the completion of his remand period.
