ISLAMABAD:

A man was shot dead over a petty issue at Tramri Chowk Islamabad on Monday. The local police said the deceased, Saeed Alam, 42, was a resident of Gilgit. He was shot in the chest during an altercation with some young men outside his daughter’s house and died at Polyclinic.

Alam and his nephew, Asad Ali, were passing through when they found the boys behaving ‘inappropriately’. A boy slapped Alam on the face, when he asked them to ‘be more civilised’.  A brawl soon erupted and one boy pulled out a gun and opened fire at Alam.

Alam was the official driver of an SHO at a police station in Gilgit and was in Islamabad to visit his daughter. The police have handed over the body to the family for burial.
