Two brothers held in jirga killings

RAWALPINDI:

Civil Lines Police claimed on Friday to have arrested two real brothers allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of two men during a jirga, while raids are ongoing to apprehend a third suspect.

According to police, the incident occurred a week ago in Gulistan Colony, where Usman Zaheer and Siyam Jameel were shot dead by Hassan Butt, Hasnain Butt and others following a jirga.

The dispute reportedly stemmed from the suspects' suspicion that certain contact numbers belonging to the Butt family were saved on Usman's mobile phone. A case of double murder was registered on the complaint of Siyam Jameel's father.

The FIR also named the suspects' third brother, Sabtain Butt, who was present at the scene during the jirga and the subsequent firing.
