Timely action: Bomb defused in Bannu
A case was filed against unidentified militants and further investigation is under way.
BANNU:
A low-intensity bomb planted by unidentified militants near one of the lattices of a cellular phone network tower was defused by the bomb disposal unit (BDU) in Bannu on Monday. Cantonment police official Jalil Khan said the incident occurred around 10:30am, adding a pedestrian spotted the explosive device and informed the police who rushed to the site, cordoned off the area and called the BDU which successfully defused the bomb. Khan said 700 grammes of explosives were used in the device according to the BDU. A case was filed against unidentified militants and further investigation is under way.
